Today, ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) will reveal which new gTLDs (generic top-level domain) and domain names that have been applied for will come into play.

The high-level on this is that new domain extensions such as = .deals or .paris or .inc or .book or .baby or .motorcycle or .shop, etc… could now be official domain extensions.  This opens entire new channels for eTailors, organizations, Startups, companies and any Internet property player.  It also challenges current Internet properties to maintain their Internet presence by securing additional domain name extensions for their organizations to secure their brand.

The news conference will take place in London today (June 13th, 2012).
